Apple (iOS) Camera Set Up Instructions for Throw Breakdown

Before You Record

You can upload up to 6 clips with your intake form.

Recommended clip breakdown:

If you want SpinLab biomechanics data, your side clip needs to follow the setup instructions below for your phone. This is the clip we run through our analysis software — slow motion, from the side, full body in frame the entire throw.

If you just want coaching feedback, skip the setup instructions and upload your clips however works best for you.

Step 1: Go to the camera app.
Step 2: At the bottom, you will see a list of the types of videos or photos you can take. Select ‘SLO-MO.’
Step 3: At the top right, you will see ‘HD . 120’ which is the default option. Tap it to change to ‘HD . 240.’
Step 4: Rotate phone so it is set up to record horizontally. Press the red button to record the throw and the red button again to stop.

If you need to check and/or change any settings, select the Settings app and scroll down until you see the camera app. Select '>' to access it.

Step 5: Go to photos and click on video
Step 6: Click the “share” icon and scroll to “Export Unmodified Original” and export to files (do no skip this step)

Step 7: Go to “Files” app and confirm video was saved there
Step 8: Login to your dashboard and click "Upload" and choose "Choose File" and select recently exported file.
